Automation Engine Database
The AE database is a Relational Database Management System (RDMS) that administers the scheduling data and contains all the objects, execution data, job reports in your system.
The IMAGE:\DB\_STRUCTURE\ACCESS folder of the delivery directory contains the UC2003.mdb database. It includes the AE database structure and a description of the individual tables and columns. The database structure description is also available as .html files at IMAGE:\DB\_STRUCTURE\HTML.
The supported databases are DB2, MS SQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Notes: Your database computer is the core part of Automation Engine. Using adequate performance and security features is therefore crucial. For more information, see Automic Automation System Requirements and Sizing.

Database Prerequisites for ILM
You can partition your database with ILM to guarantee the optimum performance of your Automation Engine system. For more information, see ILM - Information Lifecycle Management.
MS SQL and Oracle require the following additional permissions to work with ILM:
- SQL Server requires the VIEW SERVER STATE permission
- SQL Database requires the VIEW DATABASE STATE permission in the database
- Oracle requires the permission on USER_OBJECTS, V$LOCKED_OBJECT, V$SESSION, and DBA_OBJECTS
