Triggering Remediation Workflows

As an operator, you identify a recurring alarm, perform the usual root cause analysis as per your runbook and trigger remediation Workflows to solve the issue that raised the alarm.

To Trigger a Remediation Workflow

  1. In DX Operational Intelligence open the alarm for which you want to execute a remediation Workflow and open the Overview tab.

  2. In the Recommended automation actions (Confidence) section you have the following options:

    • No remediation Workflow has been triggered for this alarm so far

      1. Click View recommended remediations to open the list of remediation Workflows. You can use the filter at the top of the view to restrict the number of displayed Workflows.

      2. In the list, click the arrow of the Workflow that you want to execute.
    • At least one remediation Workflow has already been triggered for this alarm. The Workflow that was most recently triggered is displayed immediately in the Recommended automation actions (Confidence) section.

In this screenshot, Remediate an Alarm is the title (friendly name) of the Workflow that was last executed.

      • To execute it again, click on the arrow.
      • To open the list of Workflows that have been triggered for this alarm so far, click History. To execute one of them again, click on the arrow.
  3. The Workflow starts executing in Automic Intelligent Remediation and a link to its monitor is displayed below Remediate an Alarm. Below it, the link shows the Workflow name followed by its runID (AIOPS.ALARM.REMEDIATION#1006177). The runID uniquely identifies this particular execution of the Workflow.
