Troubleshooting Browser Problems on ECC Clients

To prevent handling and display issues, make sure that ECC users prepare their Internet browsers correctly.

You might experience the following browser problems. See the full descriptions and solutions below.

Problem: Can't unpin the ECC Message window

ECC messages appear in a separate window, which can also be pinned to the main pane of the ECC.

Solution: Disable pop-up blockers

To be able to unpin this message window, users have to disable pop-up blockers in their Internet browser.

Problem: Display distortions Retrieve latest stylesheet

If, after an ECC upgrade, you or your users notice display problems, like text being cut off on buttons, labels and links, this means that the Internet browser is not using the latest version of the ECC stylesheet. This happens because your browser hast stored a previous ECC stylesheet in its chache and continues to use it.

Solution: Empty cache

To solve this problem, empty the cache of the browser and login to the ECC again. Your browser will now retrieve the latest ECC stylesheet. For instructions about emptying the cache, see the user help for your internet browser. For example, for Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can do this by pressing Ctrl + F5.
