Switching Operation Modes

SAP's operation modes support the optimal use of available system resources. Various specifications can be defined for dialog and background processing, according to the time of day. No R/3 system restart is required for this method of resource allocation.

AE also supports this SAP function. Use the script element R3_SWITCH_OPMODE to switch operation modes for individual or all SAP application servers.
