UC_NOTIFICATION_BANNER - Defining Custom Notifications

As an administrator, you create this STATIC VARA object in Client 0 to enable an additional banner with a custom text that is displayed beneath the menu bar. Depending on how you configure the variable, the banner is displayed in all Clients or in Client 0 only. You can use this banner to provide important information about the status of the system, upcoming maintenance activities, upgrades and so on.

This variable includes the following keys:

TEXT

  • Description: Text to be displayed in the banner.

  • Allowed values: The text that you enter in Value 1.

  • Restart required: No

CLIENT_0_ONLY

  • Description: Determines whether the text that you enter in the TEXT Key is displayed in Client 0 only or in all Clients in your system.

  • Allowed values: Y/YES/TRUE/1/N/NO/FALSE/0

  • Restart required: No

ALLOW_MUTING

  • Description: Determines whether the end user can hide the custom notification banner for the current session. If you hide it, if the user closes the current session and logs back in, the notification is displayed again.

  • Allowed values: Y/YES/TRUE/1/N/NO/FALSE/0

  • Restart required: No

Once you have configured the custom notification, you must refresh your view (F5 in your keyboard) to be able to see it. Users that are already logged in to other Clients must log out and log back in to be able to see the notification.
