Navigating the Archive Browser Interface

The Archive Browser provides a streamlined workspace designed to help you quickly locate, analyze, and troubleshoot historical Automic Automation data without requiring a live database connection. By keeping the interface simple and focused on the primary types of archived records, the application allows you to find exactly what you need without unnecessary complexity.

Main Views

You can switch between the two main workspaces using the buttons in the top-left navigation bar:

Executions

This is the default home page of the application. It displays a paginated, sortable table of all your archived Automic Automation execution headers. Use this view to check high-level run details, such as the run ID, object name, status, timestamps, and the host.
Messages

This view lists the archived Automic Automation system messages, which you might recognize from the Automic Automation Client. Use this view when you need to audit system-wide events rather than individual tasks.

Menu Bar and Status Indicators

The top-right corner of the navigation bar contains essential global indicators and account controls to help you manage your session and verify system health:

Indexing Status

Displays the current indexing progress for your data. Because the application instantly searches through millions of records by indexing the archive files, you will typically see an Index Ready cloud icon indicating that all data is fully searchable.
Help

The (?) icon provides access to documentation and support resources.
User Profile

Displays your current logged-in username. Clicking this area opens a dropdown menu with quick access to user preferences and system configuration:
- Dark Mode: Toggles the visual theme of the interface to reduce eye strain.
- Settings: Opens the administrative configuration views(available if you have the Admin role). For more information, see Managing Application Settings.
- Change Password: Allows you to update your login credentials.
- About: Displays version and application information.
- Logout: Ends your current session.

Tip: If you cannot find a recently archived execution, check the Indexing Status first. If the system is still processing a new batch of archive files, a circular ring will show the overall percentage of indexed records, and your specific execution might not be searchable until the process completes.

Once you are familiar with navigating between the main views, you are ready to begin analyzing your historical data records.
