Changing Passwords

Your system administrator defines the criteria that passwords must comply with in the UC_CLIENT_SETTING variable. This includes when passwords expire, the maximum number of failed login attempts, the default password for new users, and so on. As an object designer and operator, you may have to define passwords that comply with the following criteria as defined by your system administrator:

• Maximum/minimum length
• Lowercase/uppercase
• Use of digits

• Use of special characters

  Special characters do not count as uppercase letters. For example, Äa8eq9v1z3 is not a valid password entry for a password that must contain upper-case characters.

• Not using your user name in the password

Passwords do not apply to logins through the LDAP connection.

To Change your Password

1. Open the login and session information menu on the upper right corner of the application.
2. Select Change Password.
3. On the Change Password dialog, enter both the old password and the new one and confirm your action.

4. Click OK.

   The new password will be valid with your next login.

Important! If your company is using an LDAP connection, you must use the tool specific to your operating system to change the password.
