Creating RA Business Objects Agent Connection Objects
Validate that Web Services are installed and create the Business Objects Web Service Connection object. If you wish to FTP output, also create a Business Objects FTP destination Connection object.
To create Automation Engine Jobs from a Business Objects system, you must first create a Business Objects Web Service Connection object.
In Applications Manager, the Connection object is defined as a Login object.
Validating Installed Web Services
In order to Connect to it, the Business Objects Web Service must be configured correctly. If it is configured correctly, you should see an Apache page when you go to http://localhost:8080/dswsbobje/services/listServices.
Make sure that the following services are present:
- Session
- ReportEngine
- BIPlatform
For information on configuring your Business Objects Web Service, see the Business Objects documentation for your version.
Creating the Business Objects Web Service Connection Object
A Business Objects Web Service Connection object includes the unique connection panel. On the connection panel, specify:
- A Web Service URL for Crystal Reports.
- A REST URL for Web Intelligence Jobs.
- The user name and password for an administrative login.
You assign the Connection object to the Job's Agent before starting the Agent.
The REST URL to use can be retrieved from the SAP BusinessObjects CMC by:
- Logging on to CMC
- Clicking on Applications
- Scrolling down and right clicking on RESTful Web Service
- Selecting Properties
Creating a Business Objects FTP Destination Connection Object
If you wish to FTP output, you will also need to create additional Connection objects of the type Business Objects FTP Destination. With these Connection objects you specify the host, port, user, password, and directory for the FTP. You pick Business Objects FTP Destination Connection objects on the Destination tab for Business Objects Jobs when FTP is picked as the destination type.
Creating a Business Objects File System Destination Connection Object
If you wish to copy output to the file system, you will also need to create additional Connection objects of the type Business Objects File System Destination. You pick Business Objects File System Destination Connection objects on the Destination tab for Business Objects Jobs when File System is picked as the destination type. With these Connection objects you specify the user name, password, and default directory. On the Job's Destination tab you select the file name and can override the default directory
