Defining Upload File Operations for HDFS Jobs

To upload a local file to an HDFS file, select Upload File in the Operation field for an HDFS Job and respond to the fields on the bottom of the screen.

  • Local File

    • The local file to upload. You can use the folder icon to browse to the file.

  • HDFS File

    • The file or directory to upload to. You can use the folder icon to browse to the file or directory. If a directory is selected, the HDFS file will have the same name as the local file.

  • User

    • The Hadoop user name.

  • Permissions

    • The UNIX permissions for the Job.

  • File Already Exists

    • Determine whether to overwrite to append existing files.
