Installing SNSC

You must install ServiceNow Service Connector on your ServiceNow instance.

Prerequisites

  • ServiceNow user with administrator rights (with admin and security_admin roles). Otherwise, SNSC cannot be installed.
  • The ServiceNow instance must support REST messages.
  • Approval from Automic to install the SNSC. This can take a few days after you purchase the add-on. Contact your account manager if you encounter problems.
  • You have completed all the installation steps through Checking the Password Exit Configuration. If you are installing on a Windows operating system, you also have completed Checking the OAuth, SAPI and XUCPASS (Password Exit) Integration.

SNSC Role Requirements

The minimum SNSC role requirements to use SNSC are the following:

  • ServiceNow Admin: User can install and configure SNSC.

    ServiceNow Roles: admin, security_admin

  • SNSC Admin: User can configure SNSC and administer the service catalog.

    ServiceNow Roles: catalog_admin, import_admin, soap, workflow_admin, x_ausgh_snsc.admin

  • Approver: User can approve orders.

    ServiceNow Roles: approver_user, x_ausgh_snsc.user

  • User: User can order items from the service catalog offered by SNSC.

    ServiceNow Roles: x_ausgh_snsc.user

To Install SNSC

  1. Open the ServiceNow app store with a user who owns the roles admin and security_admin.
  2. Search for CA Automic Apps.
  3. Click ServiceNow Service Connector (SNSC) and follow the instructions from ServiceNow.
