SAML Login Field is not Available

Problem

When attempting to log in to the Automic Automation system using SAML, I cannot find the option to use SAML in the login dialog window. The only thing I see is the regular login window which offers the Automation Engine as the connection type.

Probably, you are using SAML authentication the first time. So, you must activate it in the Automic Web Interface to be able to see the Login Type window. This capability is known as "single sign-on" (SSO). The system uses the SAML authentication protocol to manage SSO.

Solution

  1. Add the entry sso.saml.enabled=true in the configuration.properties file.
  2. Save your settings and refresh the login window. For more information, see configuration.properties - Configuring Your Local Setup.
  3. The new field Login Type is now available where you can select SAML. If you do so, the other login fields automatically adjusts to SAML.
  4. Define the Client and the Department. The Department is mandatory and must comply with users of the same department. Ensure that you create a key in the UC_SAML_SETTINGS variable that exactly defines this department. For details, see Department

If this does not help, please contact your administrator. There might be a problem in the configuration of your environment.
