Configuring Security with Domains

Automic Automation Intelligence supports a native security model in the form of the Automic Automation Intelligence Domain. This basic security model consists of two roles: Admin and User. This is managed by the domain that the user chooses to log in to. If a domain that supports the basic security model is logged into, the user will be either an Admin user or an Application user. If the user logs into an eEM domain, the user will have access control privileges based on the policies in the eEM server.

Automic Automation Intelligence provides four types of domains from which the user can choose. One or more of each of the domain types defined. When the login dialog is presented, if there are any user defined login domains, a drop down containing a list of domains will be presented and the user can select the appropriate domain. All login domains in addition to Automic Automation Intelligence will be listed in the menu in the order they are configured, with the default domain selected. For more information, see Logging In.

Domain – Basic Security Model: The Automic Automation Intelligence domain is the default domain. The users in this domain are explicitly defined in , and will not take advantage of more granular role based security. The users are added manually and each is identified as either an Admin user or an Application user. The Admin user has the ability to add/edit/delete all objects, while the Application user has read-only access to .

Domains can be configured in the Domains panel to have a default login domain, to be hidden from login, and the order in which login domains are displayed.
