Scheduler Type -  CA7

When a CA7 Scheduler is selected as the scheduler type, the user must define the instance of CA7 for the desired connection.

CA7- Local Files

  • HostName: Enter the IP address or hostname for the mainframe you wish to connect to. For connecting to files already on the Automic Automation Intelligence server this should be <file>.

  • Port: If you have changed the FTP listen port on the mainframe, enter that port number here. The default port number for FTP communication is 21 and will be displayed as the default value. For connecting to files on the Automic Automation Intelligence server this can be anything.

  • FTP User: Mainframe FTP user. This user requires READ / WRITE / DELETE access to all datasets under the qualifier defined as Report Base DSN. For connecting to files on the Automic Automation Intelligence server this can be anything.

  • FTP Password: Password for the Mainframe FTP user. For connecting to files on the Automic Automation Intelligence server this can be anything.

  • Trigger DSN: Fully qualified DSN of the dataset that triggers the EVENT JCL job on the mainframe (see the installation guide for details). The FTP user defined above must have READ / WRITE / DELETE access to this dataset. For connecting to files on the Automic Automation Intelligence server, this should be the full path to the directory where the files have been placed on the Automic Automation Intelligence server.

  • Report Base DSN: Qualifier for the CA7 definition files that are created and maintained by the JOB- DEF JCL job (see Installation Guide for details). The FTP User-defined above must have READ / WRITE / DELETE access to datasets with this qualifier. For connecting to files on the Automic Automation Intelligence server this should be RPT70 and the files will be processed according to file name. Automic Automation Intelligence will process all files whose filename contains RPT70 in alphabetical/numerical order, and their recommended format is RPT70.<EpochTime>.
