Automation Platform and SAP NetWeaver

This documentation follows the SAP NetWeaver architecture which is the technical foundation and solution stack for all SAP applications, and it explains the AE functions that are based on it. Functions for business and custom solutions are also explained.

The SAP NetWeaver architecture comprises the following key capabilities:

People Integration

People Integration is one of the three integration layers of SAP NetWeaver and includes Multi-Channel Access, Portal and Collaboration.

The Automic Web Interface (AWI) as a Browser-based application can be integrated into this SAP portal.

Business Warehouse (BW) Information Integration

Information integration provides companies with structured and unstructured information that is consistent and accessible. Users have constant access to consistent information, no matter where it is stored. Information Integration includes the following key capabilities:

  • Business Intelligence (BI)
  • BI Content
  • Knowledge Management
  • Search and Master Data Management.

Warehouse Management is the core of this section. Data loading processes and process chains are under AE control and are even integrated in other platforms by using superordinate processes. The individual processes of a chain can automatically be analyzed and displayed to its lowest level.
