Version Management Page
The Version Management page is available for all object types and lists all versions of the selected object.
Version Management is used to track any changes carried out on objects. The behavior of this function can be defined by the system administrator in the UC_CLIENT_SETTINGS variable by
- Specifying "Y" in the VERSION_MANAGEMENT validity key to activate it.
- Determining that version management is automatically activated upon turning on logging for the Revision Report.
- Limiting the number of objects that are displayed defining a value in VERSIONS_SHOW_MAX in the UC_SYSTEM_SETTINGS variable.
If this function is activated, a new version of the object is saved to the database with each change and a new entry is displayed in this list. If an object was never changed after creation, this list is empty.
The following table describes the version-related information:
Chronological order of the change, where 0 is the oldest version. Click the arrow to rearrange the list in ascending or descending order.
The name of the version. By default, it is the object name plus a suffix that ensures that the version name is unique within the client.
The suffix is appended to the object name when the change is saved and consist of the following:
Date and time refer to the time zone of the client.
However, your system administrator can specify a different format for the suffix. In any case, it must not exceed 8 characters.
|Title||The object title (optional).|
The date and time of the previous change.
If this is the first version of an object, this date is the creation date.
|Modified by||The name of the user who performed the change.|
Restoring a version
From this list you can easily replace the latest version of an object with any other older version. This is useful in case of misconfiguration.
To restore the version of an object you simply select the version you want to recover and click Restore in the toolbar.
