Monitoring

Immediately after executing an object in the Process Assembly you can open it in the Process Monitoring perspective and check how it is working.

This function is available for executable objects only.

After executing an object in the Process Assembly perspective you may want to check how the execution is going, so that you can react quickly in case it is not performing as you expect. Instead of manually switching to the Process Monitoring perspective and searching for the task, the Monitoring menu option does it automatically for you.

This function is available both from the list of objects in the Process Assembly perspective and from the Global Search dropdown list.

Monitoring (Context-Menu Option) vs Open Monitor (Link on Pop Up Dialog)

When you execute a Workflow or a Schedule, the pop up dialog that is displayed at the top of the screen indicating that the object has been started contains a link to the monitor, for example:

Clicking the Open Monitor link opens the Workflow/Schedule Monitor, not the pre-selected list of Tasks!

To Open the Predefined List of Tasks and Display the Object(s) you Have just Executed

  1. In the Process Assembly perspective execute the object.
  2. Right-click the object you have just executed and select Monitoring from the context-menu.
  3. The system switches to the Process Monitoring perspective and opens the Tasks list. The filter is predefined using the name of the objects as criterion so that the list displays the selected task only.

If the task is not performing as desired, you can right-click it and carry out any of the allowed actions, depending on the type of task and status. See Working with Tasks.

You can also select multiple objects, right-click to select Monitoring and open an instance of the Tasks list per executed object.
