UC_OBJECT_COUNTER - Counter Reading in Object Name
This Variable (VARA) object specifies a counter that is appended to the name of newly created objects. This variable is supplied with system client 0000 and can be copied to other clients and customized as needed.
-
Key:Short form of the object type
-
Value:Number ranging from 0 to 2147483647
-
Restart required: No
You can specify the object type and starting number of the first counter reading. If these settings are deleted later on, the standard settings apply once again. The counter reads as a 10-digit, run number with leading zeros and increments by one with each new object.
A new object gets a standard name composed of the short form of the object type, the term NEW, and a serial number. For example, JOBS.WIN.NEW.5. If you rename or delete the object JOBS.WIN.NEW.5, the number 5 is available again for the next new Windows job.
Important! The counter cannot be used for Time Zone objects since their names cannot exceed 8 characters, see Time Zone (TZ).
