Monitoring Job Groups
A Job Group is a container for Jobs that helps you optimize their executions. In the Job Group Monitor you find information on the current status and the progress of each Job in the group. It allows you to modify both the properties of the Job Group and of its tasks for the current execution of the group.
This page includes the following:
When a Job Group is executed its status turns to Active. The status of the individual Jobs is Registered as long as they are not executed and turns to Active as soon as they start.
The Job Group Monitor is available as long as the Group remains in the Tasks list, also after it has ended. You can also use it to re-execute particular jobs.
During the execution of a Job Group, the monitor is dynamic. It refreshes every 60 seconds to provide the latest information on the status of its jobs.
You can monitor any Job Group or job within it that you are authorized to work with. Authorities and permissions are set in your user definition.

The List of Jobs in the Job Group Monitor
The tasks contained in a Job Group are listed on the Monitor sorted by RunID. The columns on the list provide the following information:
-

Name of the Job.
-

C_HOSTG. It indicates that this Job is being process as part of a Job Group and that the Job Group is active.
-
RunID
Unique identifier assigned to the task upon execution.
-
Status
Status of this particular Job.
If the Job Group is already active but the Job cannot be processed yet due to the Max. Parallel Tasks settings, its status is Registered.
-
User

-
Start Time

-
Priority
An Automation Engine system consists of the system Client 0 and up to 9999 user-defined Clients.
The Automation Engine processes all messages sent by those clients, with the client priority determining the order in which they are processed. Clients of a higher priority are always given priority to clients of a lower priority, regardless of the order in which the messages were originally sent. The First-In-First-Out principle applies when there are two clients with the same priority. The message arriving first is processed first.
- Highest priority: 200
- Lowest priority: 255
Modifying the Group Settings and the Properties of its Tasks
From the Job Group Monitor you can modify some of the Group settings and the properties of the Jobs that are still active. These changes affect that particular execution only. After the execution has ended, the original settings apply again. If you want those changes to be permanent, you have to change the Job Group definition. For more information, see Job Groups (JOBG).
Note: The Job Group does not control either the number of Jobs that can be processed simultaneously nor the sequence in which Jobs are executed. See Execution Sequence of the Jobs in the Group.
