Duplicating Objects

As a developer and object designer, you use the duplicate function to create an identical copy of the selected object. You can store the copy in any folder to which you have access within your Client. This procedure is useful if, for example, you define object templates that you can duplicate and rename. You can duplicate objects individually or in bulk.

When you duplicate an object, the system suggests a name for the duplicate that consists of the original one adding an incremental number at the end. You can change it, if necessary. If you want to duplicate several objects, and they are located in different folders, the duplicated objects will be created in the folder where the first object in the list is located. In any case, only one single target folder can be selected for all duplicated objects.

You access this function from the Explorer in the Process Assembly perspective and from the context menu in the Global Search.

Duplicating Calendars

The following example illustrates the behavior of the system when duplicating Calendars:

To Duplicate One or More Objects

  1. Right-click the objects and select Duplicate. The Duplicate dialog is displayed.

Note: Folders cannot be duplicated. If a folder is included in your selection, the Duplicate option is not available in the context menu.

  2. Optionally, change the object Name and enter a Title.
  3. The system suggests the same Folder path as the original object. If necessary, change it by clicking on the arrows and selecting the appropriate folders.
  4. Click OK.
