Setting the Method to Generate the Authentication Key

As a system administrator in charge of the security, while defining the authentication method to be used to authenticate Agents, you define how to generate the Authentication Key. You do this in the Automation Engine DB Load Utility using the -K start parameter.

Example

• Authentication method: LOCAL_REMOTE
• Authentication key: my_secret_key

Both parameters must be used together. For more information, see Start Parameters - Utilities.

The AE DB Load utility automatically adds the selected option to the AUTHENTICATION key in the UC_AS_SETTINGS variable. For more information, see UC_AS_SETTINGS - Advanced Security.
