AE and Siebel
This topic provides an overview of how to use Siebel on your AE system. It describes the steps required to run Siebel commands in AE objects.
The Siebel Agent is a prerequisite. For more information, see Installing the Agent for Siebel (Windows).
Note: This integration capability, like all integrations of the Automic system, can support service orchestration workflows. Such workflows orchestrate automated processes that run across multiple platforms, domains, and applications to deliver a specific IT service. For more information, see About Service Orchestration.
This page includes the following:
Setting Up the Siebel Agent
The Agent uses the command-line interface of the Siebel Server Manager to execute tasks. The directory in which it is found is defined in the INI file of the Siebel agent in the [VARIABLES] section. For more information, see Agent Siebel.
Example
[VARIABLES]
UC_SIEBEL_SRVRMGR=C:\siebel\srvrmgr.exe
Also see settings concerning log files below.
Defining Siebel Jobs
Specify commands on the Process page of the Siebel Job that the Job should execute in Siebel.
More Information:
- Siebel Jobs
- Siebel job attributes
Log File Setup
When you execute Siebel tasks, two log files are available:
- Log file of the Siebel Server Manager call
- Log file of the task
Define where to store these log files in the [VARIABLES] section of the INI file of the Siebel agent . You can transfer the log files from the Siebel agent to the AE in the form of reports. For more information, see Reports.
Example
[VARIABLES]
UC_SIEBEL_SRVRMGR=C:\siebel\srvrmgr.exe
UC_SIEBEL_LOGPATH=C:\siebel\siebelLOGS\
