UC_SHELL_UNIX - Defining UNIX Shells

This Variable (VARA) object allows system administrators to manage all valid shells for Unix Jobs objects. It is supplied in the system client 0000 and its settings apply to the whole Automation Engine system.

The shell under which a Unix Jobs runs is defined in the agent-specific page of the job. If no shell is defined, the default shell from the passwd file is used. For more information, see Unix Jobs and Shell and Shell Options.

The following shells are available by default:

• bash
• csh
• ksh
• sh
• tcsh

You can add additional shells to the variable and make sure to insert a shell-specific script line in the Include TRAILER.UNIX with the format ##UC4[Shell]Shell specific command.
