Object Links

As a developer and object designer, you create links to objects to organize your work in folders. Links and the objects they link to are synchronized. Any change that you perform on the object affects the link in exactly the same way and vice versa. Objects links have a small arrow over the object icon to identify them. Inserting a link in an object (for example, in a Workflow, in a Group or in a Schedule) means that you insert the object. Deleting an object also deletes all its links.

You can create and work with links from the Process Assembly perspective and from the context-menu on the Global Search. They are available for selection in the Objects pane when you design Workflows. For more information, see Adding Tasks to a Workflow.

Creating Links

  1. Select the object you want to create the link for. You can also select several objects and create links in bulk.

  2. Right-click and select Create Link.
  3. On the Create Link dialog select the Folder where you want to store the link. It must be a different folder to the one where the target object is located.

The Name of the link is predefined. Links must always have the same name as their target objects.

  4. Click Create.

Swapping Link with Object

Right-click a link and select Swap Link with Object to move the link to the folder where the target object is located and the target object to the folder where the link is located.

Removing Links

Right-click a link and select Remove Link. Only the link is removed, the target object is not affected.
