Keyboard Shortcuts

Use keyboard shortcuts as an alternative to the mouse to perform actions more quickly. There are three types of shortcuts:

  • One-key shortcuts

    Example: D opens the Details pane

  • Two-keys shortcuts, where you press the first key and immediately afterward the second one.

    Example: Press A then X to execute the objects that you have selected.

  • Standard browser shortcuts, where you usually press Ctrl or Shift and a key.

    Example: Press Ctrl + S to save your changes.

The key combinations are displayed next to the corresponding entries in the context menus.

Enabling Keyboard Shortcuts

By default, the keyboard shortcuts are enabled. To disable them, do the following:

  1. Open the Settings dialog:

    1. Expand the dropdown menu at the top right corner of the menu bar.
    2. Select Settings.
  2. In the General pane activate the Disabled option in the Keyboard Shortcuts section.

List of Keyboard Shortcuts

The following list indicates the key combinations that are available in the system. The list is thematically grouped.

Browser shortcuts are in italics. Shortcuts that are specific to the solution are in bold.

General

  • Open: Enter key

    • In Process Assembly it opens the selected object
    • In Process Monitoring it opens the monitor of the selected task
  • Jump to next input field: Tab

    Jumps to the next input field in views and dialogs.

  • Jump to previous input field: Shift then Tab
  • Refresh: Ctrl then R

    Refreshes the view. This is the same as pressing the refresh button where available.

  • Save object/script: Ctrl + S

    It is the same as pressing the Save button.

  • Return to selected item in a list after scrolling up/down

    Arrow up/down in your keyboard

Selecting

  • Select all: Ctrl then A

    • Selects all the items on the active list
    • Selects the entire script
  • Select multiple rows in bulk: Shift + Arrow Up or Shift + Arrow Down

  • Type and select: J + Word

    Applies to lists. Press j and start typing the name of the object, task, etc. that you want to find and select in the list.

Opening

  • Details pane: D
  • Activator task executions: S then A
  • Child task executions: S then C
  • Executions: S then E
  • Last monitor: M
  • Parent monitor: P
  • Last report: R
  • Messages pane: Q

Searching

  • Global search: /

    Puts your cursor in the global search field

  • Search for use: U

    Triggers the Search for Use function for the selected object.

Adding/Editing

  • Add folder: A then F
  • Add object: +
  • Rename object: N

Executing

  • Execute object: A then X

Canceling/Deactivating/Confirming

  • Cancel / Deactivate: A then C
  • Cancel recursive: A then R
  • Confirm input in dialogs: Enter

    Confirms your input. It is the same as clicking the OK button.

Workflow Editor /Monitor - Switching Modes

  • Switch Move mode on: 1

    Switches to the Move mode in the Workflow to let you move tasks and to pan.

  • Switch Selection mode on: 2

    Switches to the Selection mode in the Workflow to let you select tasks.

  • Switch Connection mode on: 3

    Switches to the Connection mode in the Workflow to let you connect tasks.

Workflow Editor/Monitor and Script Editor

  • Redo: Ctrl + Y
  • Undo: Ctrl + Z

Zooming (Workflow Editor/Monitor)

  • Zoom In: +
  • Zoom Out: -

Script Editor

  • Copy selection: Ctrl + C (also for cell content in editable tables)
  • Cut selection: Ctrl + X (also for cell content in editable tables)
  • Paste: Ctrl + V (also for cell content in editable tables)
