Automation Engine

  • A single Automation Engine instance can now handle up to 500,000 Agents

    • Improved on and offboarding of new Agents or Agent reconnections
    • Improved load balancing
    • For Automation Engine systems that work with MS SQL Server, an alternative database schema splits the classic Automation Engine into two separate databases
    • Communication processes now process the Agents' life signs by default
    • New keys can be set for Java-based, Windows and UNIX Agents in the UC_HOSTCHAR_DEFAULT system variable
    • The Automation Engine is now fully IPv6 compatible while IPv4 can still be used
  • Increased security through enhanced encryption algorithms
  • Improved Zero Downtime Upgrade through the Automic Web Interface
  • Separation of privileges for UNIX Agents

  • Improved Centralized Agent Upgrade (CAU):

    • The Service Manager is now included in the process
    • You can leave individual Agents out of the upgrade now if they are in Waiting for host status

License Reporting Tool

As a successor of the Usage Reporting Tool, the License Reporting Tool contains the following improvements:

  • Cross-version compatibility
  • Massive speed improvements
  • Incremental reports using time ranges
  • Improved command interface
  • Defaults to the last three years

REST API

  • New REST API that provides an interface for third party applications
  • Dedicated Java Communication Process for the AE REST API
