Login Objects
Managing company-wide passwords is a great challenge for IT managers. Our products help system administrator in charge of security by providing comprehensive support for the secure central storage of enterprise passwords through Login objects. For more information, see Login (LOGIN).
They serve the following purposes:
- Manage user IDs
- Manage passwords of host systems
- Store access information to host systems
- Activate executable objects on host systems
The developers and object designers at your company define executable objects, for example Jobs and File Transfers, that need access to third-party applications and operation systems. Since the Automation Engine can orchestrate processes across multiple external systems, your developers potentially need access to multiple login data.
Login objects handle this need centrally and safely. They store the login information that Agents need to execute the objects on the target systems. The Agents pass the login information on to the target systems, which validate it. If it is correct, the task is processed using the credential stored in the Login object. If it is not, the external system rejects processing the task.
By using Login objects, users can design objects for external systems without actually knowing or having access to the necessary passwords.
As a system administrator in charge of the security at your company, you can manage all the passwords centrally in Login objects.
