Password Policies and Management
Users can log in to the system only through the credentials provided by the administrators. These credentials consist of the User ID and a department. Our products provide for advanced password management, including the ability to require specific password formats such as:
- Minimum password length
- Special character requirements
- Capital letter requirements
- Numeric requirements
For details on how to define the password policy at your company, see the password-related information in UC_CLIENT_SETTINGS - Various Client Settings.
Our products also allow for integration with Active Directory and LDAP compatible user authentication. This integration is for the sole purpose of user and password validation.
Once a user is connected, their activity is tracked for auditing and reporting purposes.
Changing Default Passwords
With the installation of the Automation Engine, a default user account called UC exists for system Client 0 (username: UC, Department: UC, Password: UC). This user has full rights and privileges. Change the credentials of this user after your first logon.
To Change a User Password
- Login to AWI using the available UC user credentials.
- Open the login and session information menu on the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select Change Password and fill out the fields on the dialog.
- Click OK.
