Release Policy for Automic SaaS
Automic SaaS and Automic Automation versions have slightly different release cadences. This is why you may read about features in the product documentation that are not available on your environment yet. This deviation in content happens only during a short period of time.
This topic describes Broadcom's release policy for Automic SaaS:
Release Cadence
Automic SaaS has releases with the following periodicity:

Major versions are released every 21 to 24 months.

Within a major version, every three months either a minor version or a service pack is released. This guarantees that security vulnerability fixes are delivered on a quarterly basis.

Hotfixes are released when necessary.
Software Version Information
The numbers in the software version information identify the corresponding major/minor version, service pack and hotfix. For example:
24.0.1+hf2

24 indicates the major version
-
0 indicates the minor version
-
1 indicates the service pack
-
hf2 indicates the hotfix
Release Content
Major Versions
Major versions can include the following:

Major architectural changes
-
Significant new functionality
-
In certain situations, they can require a migration from the previous version.
Minor Versions
Minor versions are upgrades from the previous release on the same major version; this means that they are compatible with the previous release on the same major version. They can include the following:

New functionality without major backend changes
Service Packs
Service packs DO NOT include new functions. They can contain the following:

Bug fixes
-
Performance optimizations
-
Compatibility updates
-
Security updates
Hotfixes
Hotfixes remove malfunctions and defects.
