Working with Clients

As an administrator, you add, configure, enable, disable and delete Clients from the Clients list in the Administration perspective. Here you can also open their reports and access historical data. In the list, right-click a Client to open the context-menu and access the available functions. On the toolbar you find buttons that provide quick access to some of them.

For more information, see Reports for Clients and Execution Data respectively.

Enabling and Disabling Automatic Processing

When you create a Client, it is initially deactivated. This means that you can define objects, design Workflows, and so on, in this Client but you cannot execute them. To be able to execute objects, you must first activate the Client. To do so, right-click it and select GO - Enable Automatic Processing.

The Client status changes immediately. You see whether automatic processing is activated or not in the in the Active column.

You deactivate one or more Clients by right-clicking it and selecting STOP - Disable Automatic Processing.

Deleting Clients

In Automic Automation on premises, there are to options to delete a Client:

  • Using the AE DB Client Copy utility, see AE DB Client Copy.

  • From the Clients list by right-clicking the Client and selecting Delete.

Once you have triggered the deletion, a notification is displayed and the status in the Active column changes. The Client is then listed in the Client History page, where you can follow the deleting process displayed in the Status column.

In the list of Clients, you can right-click the Client that is being deleted to view it in the Client History page. This page displays information that pertinent to the selected Client only.

Note: You cannot delete more than one Client at the time and you cannot delete an active Client. Also, the Client that you want to delete cannot have either active Users or active tasks.

Copying Clients

You cannot copy a client from the Automic Web Interface. For this purpose, you must use the AE DB Client Copy utility. For more information, see AE DB Client Copy.
