Transitioning to Automic SaaS - Installing New Agents
Transitioning from Automic Automation on-premises to Automic SaaS involves several steps. Once of them is creating new Agents in Automic SaaS. This topic describes how to do it and provides links to additional content on this subject.
Installing new Agents in Automic SaaS follows the same installation process as installing an Agent from the Automic Web Interface in an AAKE environment. The installation steps are the following:
-
Create an Agent object in Client 0.
-
Download an Agent package.
This package contains a preconfigured Agent whose INI file already has all the necessary parameters and configurations. Also, the authentication package is already available in the bin directory and referenced i the INI file.
-
Set permissions and file types on the file system.
-
Start the Agent.
-
In AWI, re-authenticate the Agent with the server.
-
Move to Agent a non-zero Client
Important! Your Automic SaaS environments already have the following pre-installed and pre-configured Agents: REST Agent Integration, S3 Agent Integration, Linux and SAP. They are ready to use (you do not have to configure or authenticate them) and they are assigned by default to your Client 100. This Client/Agent assignment is configured in the HSTA.SAAS.HOSTED object that is also available in Client 0. If you want to assign these Agents to another or to additional Clients, you simply modify the HSTA.SAAS.HOSTED definition accordingly. For more information, see Assigning Clients to Agents.
For detailed instructions on how to install an Agent, see:
For more information about authenticating the Agent, see Authenticating Agents and Withdrawing the Authentication.
Note: For Automic SaaS, only the LOCAL authentication method is available.
