Selecting the Connection Color

AWI allows you to assign unique colors to your active sessions. This feature provides an immediate visual cue to help you distinguish between different Clients or environments, such as Production, Test, or Development at a glance.

The connection color is applied to the entire top menu bar (header) and the browser tab icon, ensuring that your current Client or environment is always clearly identifiable, which reduces the risk of performing actions in the wrong system.

Why Connection Colors Matter

  • Operational Safety: Prevents costly mistakes by clearly flagging Production environments or Client 0 with high-visibility colors.

  • Efficiency: Allows users working across multiple browser tabs to instantly identify the correct session without checking the URL or Client number.

  • Accessibility: AWI provides a curated set of 25 predefined colors. These colors are engineered to meet strict accessibility standards, ensuring that text and icons remain legible regardless of the background color you choose.

Prerequisites

Browser version: Google Chrome (138.0+), Microsoft Edge (138.0+), Mozilla Firefox (140+), or Apple Safari (18.5+).

To Change the Connection Color

You can update the color of your current session at any time without logging out.

  1. Click the session and user settings dropdown list in the top right corner of the menu bar.

  2. Select Connection Color.

  3. Choose a new color from the palette.

  4. The header updates instantly to reflect your selection. All subsequent windows or tabs opened within this connection will share this color.
