Deployment

For Business Views created on Dollar Universe V6 nodes, the deployment is performed by the “Send to” function. Refer to section "V6 Deployment Details".

For Business Views created on Dollar Universe V5 nodes, the three actions (Transfer, Distribute and Deploy) call up the same dialog box described below.

In this dialog box, you can select or unselect one or more objects; you can make multiple selections with the Shift or Ctrl keys.

The following actions are common to the different features:

• Update

  Select a Task and click Update to choose a deployment destination (a Management Unit).

• Delete

  Deletes the selected line and all its sub-objects from the list.

• Expand

  Only makes sense for Uprocs. It displays objects related to the selected Uproc as conditions.

• Expand All

  Only makes sense for Uprocs. It displays objects related to all Uprocs.

• Select All / Unselect All

  To select or unselect objects in the list. Only selected objects will appear in the last summarize dialog.

  • All objects: all objects in the list
  • Session of Tasks: Session referenced in a Task
  • Tasks related to Tasks: refers to optional Tasks
  • Uprocs of Session: Uproc referenced in a Session
  • Objects related to Uprocs: conditions, resources, etc.

Transfer

• Choose destination Area for Business View transfer

  Click on the arrow to select the Area where the objects will be copied. Click OK to continue.

• Business View Transfer

  The list displays all the BV objects (refer to section: "Deployment"). Once all the necessary objects are selected, click Transfer BV to start the transfer.

  All the selected objects are transferred from the target Area to the destination Area. The Business View is created on the destination Area.

• Summary of launched actions

  This list summarizes the operations.

Distribute

• Node for distribution

  Click on the arrow to select the Node to which the objects will be distributed (in the same Area). Click OK to continue.

• Also distribute Business View objects

  Click on the box if you want the BV objects to be distributed.

• Business View Distribution

  The list displays all BV objects (refer to section Deployment). Once all the necessary objects are selected, click Distribute BV to start the distribution.

  All selected objects are distributed to the destination Node. The Business View is created on the destination Node/Area.

  BV Tasks are distributed as template Tasks, therefore, there is no defined Management Unit.

Deploy

Business View Deployment: The list displays BV template Tasks (refer to section: "Deployment").

Select a Task and click Update the destination to display the following dialog box:

• Please choose a deployment destination

  Click on the arrow to select the Management Unit to which the Tasks will be distributed (in the same Area). Click OK to continue. If the user has entered a MU in the Template name, then the destination will automatically be set with this MU. The list now displays all BV objects. Select the objects to deploy.

• Also create corresponding Job Chain

  Check the box if you want to create the Job Chain (the BV executable object) and enter its name.

  Once all necessary objects are selected, click Deploy BV to continue.

  All the selected objects are distributed to the destination Node. The Business View (and potentially the Job Chain) is created on the destination Node/Area.

  If a Task involves a Session and that Session contains a HDP, it will be resolved during deployment.

  The BV Tasks are deployed as executable Tasks.
