This section describes Node Views created to simplify monitoring of production and their status.
You can group several production Nodes to be monitored together in the same view. A Node View may only include Nodes of the same Company, product and version (for example Dollar Universe V6).
Node Views are stored on the UVMS only
The status is available for the Management server, UniJob, Publisher and Reporter Nodes. It may have several values:
You can define a Node View with Nodes and/or rules (instead of selecting Nodes one by one). This way, when you use a Node View (for monitoring, security...) the Nodes targeted with the action will be dynamically computed from those defined in the Node View.
Certain fields are not modifiable depending on the action selected. Do not forget to click Save to save your Node View definition.
Node View
Enter the label identifying the Node View.
Label
Enter the description of the Node View as clearly as possible.
Type
Select:
Company
If you have selected a Dollar Universe type, enter the Dollar Universe Company name (6 uppercase characters exactly) to monitor.
Area
If you have selected a Dollar Universe type, enter the Dollar Universe Area to monitor.
The list displays the rules defining Node Views: Node names or Node patterns, operating systems and Tags.
A Node View is defined by the compilation of all rules.
Click Add Node to define a new Node or a new rule:
Selection of a Node pattern and tags
A rule is defined by the combination of specified characteristics: Node name pattern, an operating system, a Management Server (with advanced architecture with subordinate Management Servers) and a list of tags (a group from the list of tags).
Each rule has its own characteristics, which cannot be shared with other rules.
Name pattern
Select this option to define a dynamic selection. The format must be in "code*" (where code contains the first characters of the Node name) or "*".
Operating System
Select the target operating system or "All" if indifferent. This option is not available for Dollar Universe Nodes.
Tags
Check the box to select tags in the list.
The list can be filtered. Enter the filter code (like T*) and click Select Filtered to display the filtered list. Click Unselect All to cancel selection.
Manual selection of a Node
Click on the box before a node to select it
Node
The list can be filtered. Enter a filter code (like N*) and click Select Filtered to display the filtered list. Click Unselect All to cancel selection.
Operating System
Select the target operating system or "All" if indifferent. This option is not available for Dollar Universe Nodes.
Management Server
For advanced architecture with subordinate Management Servers, you can filter the list. Enter the filter code (as N*) and click on Select filters to display the filtered list. Click on Unselect all to cancel the selection.
Click OK to validate the selection.
Select a line and click Update to modify a rule.
Select a line and click Delete to delete a rule. A message is displayed to ask for confirmation.
Select a line and click Preview to display the list of Nodes targeted by the rule. This list is dynamically computed when the user selects the Node View.
If the Unselect All button is not activated, the previous filter selection will be combined with the current filter selection.
