Description

S_SU_JOB

Custom su command used during job submission

S

On UNIX

Allows the user to customize an su command used by Dollar Universe during job submission. This command can be used to run a specific user impersonation command by Dollar Universe when submitting a job for a given system user. For example, this can be used to integrate with SUDO.

S

Maintained only for Dollar Universe V5 compatibility.

U.S: The INFO field contains the Uproc and Session labels.

S.U: The INFO field contains the Session and Uproc labels.

S: The INFO field contains the Session label.

U: The INFO field contains the Uproc label.

U_NB_ART_INIT

Number of articles reserved by IO server for memory pre- allocation

S

When a .dta file is read, the I/O server reserves extra disk space to maintain security margins in relation to available disk space. As the temporary disk space reservation is used, the I/O server attempts to reserve a new allocation: If insufficient space is available the following message will be written to the central log file universe.log: ERROR: Cannot write in file XXX.

The number of temporary disk allocations can be set via 2 environment variables (default value=5):

U_NB_ART_INIT for dta files.

In the event of a "file system full", no more data will be written to disk to avoid data corruption.

This setting should only be modified when advised by Technical support.

U_W32_WAIT_KILLSYNC

Delay in milliseconds to allow proper synchronization of DQM and W32 events when killing a job

S

On certain Windows 32 systems, system events are sometimes released late; in this case the Launcher has problems synchronizing when killing a job from the user interface. Consequently the job continues to be displayed as “Running” even though it has been effectively killed at system level.

This variable can be set to avoid this problem.

This setting should only be modified when advised by technical support.

U_UNX_WAIT_KILLSYNC

Delay (s) to allow proper synchronization of DQM and UNIX systems when killing a job

S

Same variable on UNIX

U_NO_SETHDLTERM

Allow core generation when a UNIX signal is trapped

S

Yes by default

If set to No, this disables core generation when a UNIX signal is trapped by a Dollar Universe process, providing this signal would have caused core generation.

LAN_JOB_DELAY

Delay (in seconds) to check the Jobs by the Launcher

S

Delay (in seconds) of Job verification by the launcher: 60 by default. This setting should only be modified when advised by technical support.

U_JOB_RETRY_CONNECT

UNI_AUTORESTART_

DISABLE

Disabling automatic restart in case of failure

S

On UNIX

By default, the IO Server does not restart automatically after an interruption. If YES is selected, it will restart with all its engines.

On Windows, this property is not managed by a variable but by the Windows Service (only true of the IO Server of the Area X)

U_NETWAIT_TIMEOUT

Delay (in seconds) before forcing a new condition check for cross-network conditions

S

Time to enforce condition checks for launcher.

This setting should only be modified when advised by technical support.

U_HISTORIC

History trace feature for all executions

S

Recording all executions submitted by Dollar Universe in the execution history (regardless of their submission mode)

Yes: default value, all executions are recorded in the execution history. The execution history can then be disabled at the task itself. See Functional Data of a Task.

No: no execution will be recorded in the execution history (to be used, for example, in the case of very high production (100K jobs per day) to avoid too large history files). In this case:

  • Once the Job Runs list is purged, the operator will not be able to see what has been executed.
  • The History Trace of each job will no longer be available once the job has finished executing.
  • The uxset commands will run normally. But since they write their execution trace in the execution history (history trace), the execution trace of the command will only be visible in the history trace during the Uproc run time.
  • During a rerun, the value of the variables can not be recovered from the previous job run and will take the value defined in the object.

U_SEND_JOB

AS400 batch error message management

S

In AS400, a job is considered aborted if it ends with an ESCAPE message.

In DUAS, this message which is issued by the Uproc is intercepted. U_BATCH forces the job into aborted status and completes it. For AS400 the JOB completes normally.

U_SEND_JOB responds to the needs of the supervision tools based on the monitoring messages: U_BATCH sends in ESCAPE by retransmitting the message.

To enable this feature position U_SEND_JOB in: re-emit

Don't re-emit: no matter the result of the job run, it will always be seen as completed by AS400.
