This section details Univiewer Console, Univiewer Web Console, and Univiewer Console Web start installation and upgrade on Windows and Linux.
UVC can be installed in three ways, according to the overall architecture and trade policy implemented: number of users, management of software versions, firewall…
Univiewer Console Standalone: a classic local installation using Windows installer or a compressed tar installation program on Linux.
The Univiewer Console is fully installed on the user’s workstation. The whole structure is included in a single directory (similar on Windows or on Linux).

The UVC standalone directory structure can be installed anywhere but the space character is prohibited in the directory.
In the event of an update, each user must perform a local update.
When using the Univiewer Console, it opens the TCP ports to different clients: UVMS, DUAS, UniJob, Reporter, etc.
Univiewer Console Java Web Start: Java Web Start is a mechanism for program delivery through a standard Web server.
The Univiewer Web Start Console is installed on the Web server (server side) and the user downloads it to the workstation through the browser (client side).
In the event of an update, UVC Web Start must be updated on the server. Then each user can, if they want, perform the local update using the new proposed link.
When using UVC Web Start, it opens the TCP ports to different clients: UVMS, DUAS, UniJob, Reporter, etc.
Univiewer Web Console: the Univiewer Web Console has to be deployed on a servlet engine (server side).
The user downloads a java applet on its computer through the browser (client side). In the event of an update, UVC Web Console must be updated on the server; the user downloads the new java applet locally.
UVC Web Console does not use TCP ports, which therefore simplifies firewall management.
In the two last installation modes:
The three architectures can coexist on the same workstation.
As of version 6.10.41, documentation new updates are posted on the Broadcom Techdocs Portal.
