The concept of sharing the DU6 nodes of a subordinate UVMS allows for two possible configuration types:
![]()
The subordinate UVMS and its Dollar Universe node clusters are isolated from other UVMS/DUAS nodes. The subordinate UVMS (2 or 4) do not see the Dollar Universe V6 nodes of the master UVMS nor those of the other subordinate UVMS. It only shows its own nodes to the master UVMS.
This configuration allows for centralized management of the architecture while maintaining the isolation of clusters in development and production.
![]()
Its Dollar Universe V6 nodes are visible by other subordinates and can therefore work with any other Dollar Universe node of the master UVMS or of another UVMS that shares its nodes. The subordinate UVMS (2 or 4) sees the Dollar Universe v6 nodes of the master UVMS and those of the other subordinate UVMS that are sharing their nodes.
This configuration allows for centralized management of the architecture as well as a very large production scale using all the Dollar Universe distributed production functionalities (development, deployment, network submission, resource conditioning, HDP, multi-node monitoring, etc). In this case, there is no difference between a production node registered on the same UVMS and a production node registered on another subordinate UVMS.
Sharing nodes only includes Dollar Universe V6 nodes. The Dollar Universe V5 and Manager V5 nodes are visible on their declared UVMS and on the master UVMS. The other node types (UniJob and Reporter) are only visible on their declared UVMS. It is recommended to declare UniJob nodes on the master UVMS.
The master UVMS sees all the subordinate UVMS and all of their associated Dollar Universe V6 nodes, whether the nodes are shared or not.
As of version 6.10.41, documentation new updates are posted on the Broadcom Techdocs Portal.
