About the Documentation

A new documentation set is provided with each major version release and is included in the package you download to install the product. The latest version of the documentation is also available at docs.automic.com.

This page includes the following:

Accessing the Online Help

You can access the online product documentation on the product documentation website at docs.automic.com.

You can also access the online help from within the software itself by clicking the question mark button on the menu bar. The online help opens in a new browser tab.

Starting with Automic Automation v24.4, the online help opens within the same panel in the AWI itself. This new panel provides access not only to product documentation for specific cloud integrations but also to much more information, including Knowledge Base articles, community posts, and educational content.

Searching for Information

  • Using the Search field

You find the Search field in the upper right corner of the online help.

Use this method if you want to search for a topic without worrying about where it is located in the documentation. Type one or more terms related to it and press Enter.

The list of results displays the first ten hits. If there are more, you can scroll back and forth using the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the list.

  • Using the table of contents

Use this method if you are already familiar with the documentation structure or if you want to get acquainted with it. The table of contents is the pane on the right-hand side that provides a tree structure you can expand and collapse in order to access the topics.

Use the arrows in the right corner of the help toolbar to navigate back and forth in the tree structure.

Printing a Topic

The product documentation is available as online help only. To print a topic, click the printer icon on the help toolbar.

Troubleshooting

I Cannot Open the Online Help

Problem: I cannot open the Online Help from the menu.

Solution: Allow the Automic Web Interface help to pop up.

Allow pop-ups for blockers of the AWI help URL in your Internet browser. For more information, see Preparing Your Browser in the Automic Automation documentation.

If your company's security does not allow employees to have Internet access, contact your system administrator and request that the online help be placed on a secure intranet. Your administrator can find further information in the AWI configuration.properties in the Automic Automation documentation.

The Online Help Renders No Results

Problem: I enter a search term in the Search field, but the Online Help does not find any topic containing it. I am sure that there must be something about it in the documentation.

Solution: Empty your browser's cache.
