Predicted Duration

AAI administrators can override the average duration calculated by the system at job level. Once you have selected a new predicted duration, you can either edit or delete it. Right-click the relevant job to access these options from the pop-up menu.

New Predicted Duration

Right-click the relevant job/box and select New Predicted Duration. The dialog that opens displays the scheduler and job names, as well as the average duration.

The predicted duration property is displayed in the Job Properties dialog in the Definition tab. By default, the predicted duration calculated by the system is the same value as the Average Duration.

As an AAI administrator, you can then enter the new production duration in HH:MM:SS format and enter a description. When you use this option, the new duration is displayed in the Job Properties dialog and the source of the predicted duration is set to the description entered. If there is no description, the system displays User Supplied as the source.

You can also select if the new, user-supplied duration should expire at some point or not. If you define an expiration date, it is displayed in the Predicted Duration Expiration property.

Once the new value is accepted ( OK button) AAI updates the predicted duration for the selected job and use that new duration for its jobstream predictions.

Note:

The new value is used for that specific job in all jobstreams that the job it is part of.

Jobs and/or boxes (groups) that have a predicted duration supplied by a user are marked in the jobstream with a clock icon.

Edit Predicted Duration

If you have entered a new predicted duration and want to edit it, right-click the relevant job/box and select Edit Predicted Duration....

The dialog that opens is the same you used to set a new predicted duration. Make the relevant changes and click OK.

Delete Predicted Duration

If you have entered a new predicted duration and want to dismiss the changes, right-click the relevant job/box and select Delete Predicted Duration...

You are prompted to confirm your selection.
