IWSz - JCL Samples and Dataset Descriptions
Below are JCL files and a REXX program for the IWSz data collection jobs that run on the mainframe. The sample JCL is provided as a template and must be modified to include file transfer steps (for example, Connect:Direct, Axway, FTP) to transfer the generated datasets to the IWS Connector server.
The following sections provide information about each job, including scheduling and file transfer requirements.
We recommend that the following IWSz scheduling object definition files be transferred into one directory on the IWSz Connector server:
- defs.<date-time-suffix>
- baseobjs.<date-time-suffix>
The following IWSz event files should be transferred into a separate directory:
- events.<date-time-suffix>
- track.<date-time-suffix>
- cpop.<date-time-suffix>
The specific directory paths are not important, because they can be specified in AAI when the IWSz Scheduler Instance is defined. For information, see Configuring IWSz Schedulers.
The following date/time suffixes are supported:
- yyMMdd.HHmmss
- yyyyDDD.HHmmss
- 1yyMMdd.HHmmss
- yyyyMMdd.HHmmss
- yyyyddMM.HHmmss
- MMddyyyy.HHmmss
- ddMMyyyy.HHmmss
- Custom format specified by user
