Viewing AutoSys Job Error Logs (Syntax Conversion)
When job definitions for an AutoSys scheduler come into AAI, AAI analyzes the JIL syntax of the job definitions to detect a variety of problems or anomalies within those definitions. AAI can produce a PDFScheduler Conversion report that lists all the job definition issues found for the related AutoSys scheduler.
AAI can detect the following problems and list them with the problem details on the Scheduler Conversion report:
-
Conditions that refer to jobs that don't exist
-
Cross-instance job references (for example: success(job1^ACE)) where the referenced scheduler is not defined to AAI
-
Missing parent boxes
-
Jobs that refer to themselves as their own parent
-
Unrecognized time zones
-
Missing calendars
-
Malformed start times
To view the generated log of issues within the job definitions in an AutoSys scheduler
Use the following steps to generate a Scheduler Conversion report. You can do this when viewing or editing an AutoSys scheduler definition in AAI.
-
Start at the System Monitoring page. To do this, from the left navigation pane, select System then System Monitoring.
-
Click the AutoSys scheduler name to open its definition in AAI.
-
On the Monitoring Details tab, click the View Log button under Errors.
A Scheduler Conversion PDF report is immediately created and opens or lands according to your Web browser's default handling of PDF links.
