Registering Your Broadcom Product
The registration of an AAI instance in the Broadcom Product Registration is a one-time task for the lifetime of the instance, and only one user needs to register the AAI instance for all subsequent logins and users on the instance for the current and future upgrade versions. What You Need to Know about Registering Your AAI Instance
Product registration is, in effect, required. However you can postpone the registration by skipping the registration process prompt. Product registration is prompted in the following situations:

At fresh installation
At the first login of any authorized user on a fresh installation of an AAI instance

At upgrade
At the first login of any authorized user after an upgrade, but only when the instance had not already been registered with a previous version.

If skipped
At the next login of any authorized user if the last authorized user chose to skip the registration at the prompt at the previous login.
Who can register a Broadcom product
Only users who have permission to go through the certification process will be prompted to register to Broadcom Product Registration Program. These permissions are set by Broadcom for each product in ICE.

In a JAWS domain, only users with the admin role can register an AAI instance.

For an eEM domain, users with AddScheduler privilege can register an AAI instance.
If you work with an authorized Broadcom partner, they can register the product on your behalf. In this topic, you find instructions for both situations:
Registering Your Product for Your Own Company
To register an AAI instance for your own company, follow these steps.

Log into AAI.
The Register Your Product dialog appears.
Note:If you do not want to register your product right away, click the Skip for now button. If you choose this option, then a banner that states that, "This AAI instance is Unregistered" appears above the title of every page and view for all users.
For authorized users, the banner also has a Register Now button that opens the Register Your Product dialog. Until your product is registered, the Register Your Product dialog will appear after each login of an authorized user.

Enter your enterprise email address, which will be linked to the product registration, and click Start.
Note:To edit the email address, click the back arrow to the left of Register Your Product. The email address you enter is used only for registration purposes and to share relevant product updates. Your personal data is protected in accordance with Broadcom's Privacy Policy.
An email with a one-time password (OTP) is sent to the email address.

Find the email from broadcom.com with the OTP in your email inbox. Take note of the password.
The password is valid for 15 minutes only.
If you do not use the password within that time, or if you did not receive a password email, you can click Resend to get a new email with a new OTP. You can use Resend up to three times to the same email address.
If you don't find the email in your main inbox, check your spam folder.
Important!Check that the request code in your product registration dialog matches the one in the email you received to make sure the OTP is the one you need to register this specific instance. This is particularly important when you have multiple Broadcom products or instances of a product that you need to register.

Go back to the Register your Product dialog and enter the OTP, then click Confirm OTP.
If the OTP matches, your AAI instance is registered, the dialog disappears and you return to AAI.
The instance is registered for all users and for this and all future upgrades of this AAI instance
Registering the Product as a Broadcom Partner
If you are a Broadcom partner and you want to register the product on behalf of a customer or a company, use the steps that follow. However, before you begin, read through the steps to decide on your registration approach. If you decide on approach where your customer will need to take steps as well, be sure to inform them about the process and what they will have to do.
To register an AAI instance when you are a partner company who serves AAI customers, use the following steps.

Log into AAI.
The Register your Product dialog appears.
Note:If you do not want to register your product right away, click the Skip for now button. If you choose this option, then a banner that states that, "This AAI instance is Unregistered" appears above the title of every page and view for all users.
For authorized users, the banner also has a Register Now button that opens the Register Your Product dialog. Until your product is registered, the Register Your Product dialog will appear after each login of an authorized user.

Enter your own enterprise email address and click Start. Based on this email address, the system recognizes you as a Broadcom partner.

Select one of these options, depending on which option is relevant for you:

You complete the registration without customer involvement:
To register the product instance to you, the Broadcom partner, rather than one of your AAI customers:

Click My Company

Click Continue
The instance is now registered with Broadcom to you, and all your AAI users can continue to work without further notifications.

Customers complete the registration:
To initiate the registration on behalf of your customer and have them complete the registration for themselves:

Click My Customer.

Enter your customer's email address and click Continue.
The system sends an email to the customer's address. The email includes two links for two different options to continue:

Simply confirming that they want to complete their product registration by clicking the confirmation link.

Completing the registration themselves, by noting the request code and the OTP and then clicking the second link. This opens their AAI instance, where the Register your Product dialog appears.
The customer should compare the request code in your product registration dialog with the one in the email and enter the OTP tio complete the product registration themselves.
The links and the customer OTP are valid for 24 hours only.

The instance is registered for all users and for this and all future upgrades of this AAI instance.
