Configuring Control-M / Control-M (z) Schedulers

This topic explains how toadd, configure, view, edit and delete a scheduler for Control-M / Control-M (z). You must add a new Control-M/Control-M (z) scheduler for each Control-M / Control-M (z) datacenter that you want to integrate into your AAI environment.

You can add Control-M / Control-M (z) schedulers before installing the Control-M Connector. However, you will not be able to use them until the Connector is up and running. For more information, see AAI Integration for Control-M.

This page includes the following:

Adding a Control-M / Control-M (z) Scheduler

Control-M schedulers can only be created through the Web UI.

  1. Go to System and click the Add Scheduler button.

  2. Enter a descriptive Name that the people who will work with the data from this scheduler can easily recognize. The name must be unique in your system.

  3. In Type select Control-M.

  4. Specify the following parameters:

    • If there is either a Control-M or a Control-M (z) connector registered, it is listed in the Connector dropdown list below.

    • Default Time Zone: Enter the time zone in which Control-M / Control-M (z) is located.

      Default: GMT

    • Database Type: Select the relevant database type.

    • JDBC URL: Enter the JDBC URL.

    • JDBC Driver: Enter the JDBC driver.

    • DB User: Enter the database user name

    • DB Password: Enter database user password

    • Control-M Data Center: Enter the relevant Control-M data center.

    • Job Definition Refresh Times: Select the times at which AAI should refresh the job definitions.

  5. Optionally, click Show Advanced to define additional parameters:

    • Projected Start Time Period (days)

How far forward the connector should look for planned start times.

    • Historical Data Initial Load Period (days)

How far back the connector should look the first time it fetches information.

      Default: One day

    • Event Polling Interval (seconds)

Specific event polling interval for a particular scheduler.

    • Historical Data Load Batch (days): The number of days of data to be processed at a time. This parameter will noticeably affect performance; less days are more efficient.

  6. Click Save Changes. The new scheduler is added to the list of already connected systems. Initially, its status is In Progress until the scheduler is completely connected to AAI.

Viewing a Scheduler

Click and existing scheduler in the list. The dialog that is displayed provides the scheduler configuration data as you entered when adding it. You cannot edit anything here. For details about each field, see the Adding a Scheduler section above.

Editing a Scheduler
