Release Notes 6.4.2

This topic provides information about the new features and enhancements, bug fixes, and database changes that have been implemented in this version of Automic Automation Intelligence as well as enhancements and bug fixes that are connector-specific.

Enhancements

General

  • The WebUI now surfaces telemetry data to display the usage pattern of the AAI installation. This information is also available through the REST API. For more information, see Usage Data (Telemetry).

  • Added the option to include timezone preference for alerts for jobstreams. This is defined on a per jobstream basis.

  • Introduced a blackout period for jobstream alerts. This is a time range where alerts are suppressed.

  • Introduced a headless installer so AAI can be installed on on Unix without the need for a GUI. For more information, see Installing AAI on UNIX (GUI) for Unix.

  • Introduced the ability to specify a Kerberos connection between an AAI Oracle database and the AAI server itself. This Kerberos connection can be configured via the Config Tool.

  • The connector framework now provides configurable logging parameters (location and retention) and requests values for these parameters during installation for connector developers.

AutoSys

The rename job functionality is now supported for AutoSys R12. If a job is renamed using this functionality, AAI associates all historical runs of the job to the new name and all statistics for the job are generated using the full breadth of historical runs.

    • CVE-2020-1967

  • Upgrading to this release removes the Application Landscape scheduler from older Automic Automation Intelligence environments since the functionality is no longer supported. This change is visible from the AAI - classic UI (Admin > Schedulers) as well as from the AAI - next generation UI (System Summary).

  • Improved the SNMP support for AAI so that it accurately reflects what is supported. Migrated SNMPv1 Trap to SNMPv2 Get and added support for SNMPv2 Trap.

    Associated ticket: DE505835

  • Resolved an issue where the time zone in jobstream alerts reflected the AAI server time zone rather than the scheduler time zone when the user selected Use scheduler's time zone when applicable.

    Associated ticket: DE515411

  • The System Summary Page (http://{hostname}:{port}/aai/web/v2) has been updated to read the users privileges and restrict access to the list of schedulers and the add/edit functionality.

    Associated ticket: DE526060

  • Fixed an issue where some subscription services published predictions were incorrectly discarded when the end time of the target job run was the current time.

    Associated ticket: DE454793

  • Fixed an issue where incorrect job runs were included in a jobstream run when the start time of the next run for the jobstream began before the previous run had completed.

    Associated ticket: DE525444

AutoSys

  • Resolved an issue that resulted in a duplicate key row constraint violation (XAK1JobStreamRun_JobRun) generally only seen on startup of the AAI application.

    Associated ticket: DE517083

  • Fixed an issue with the displaying of AutoSys jobstream runs when there are circular job dependencies so that there are not multiple occurrences of the same runs shown.

    Associated ticket: DE520599

  • Resolved an issue that prevented an AutoSys R11.3.6.1 scheduler from being added in AAI.

    Associated ticket: DE522872

CA7

Added support for non-numeric CA7 job run IDs so that CA7 job runs get properly saved in the AAI database.

Associated ticket: DE525209

Tidal

Properly recorded Operational Delay for Tidal job runs and made it available as a report column.

Associated ticket: DE454729

Universal Schedulers

  • Fixed an issue that prevented jobstreams with Universal to Universal cross-instance job dependencies from showing up as forecast runs in the Monitoring tab of the AAI client.

  • Resolved an issue that caused jobstream runs with Universal Scheduler Cross-Instance dependencies to go into an NPTF state rather than completing normally.

    Associated ticket: DE525794

Database Schema Upgrade Summary from 6.4.1-2

There are no schema changes from 6.4.1-2.

Automic Connector 2.1.3

Bug Fixes

The following issues have been solved in this version:

  • The Automic Connector now uses log4j 2.17.1 (the latest release), which solves more security vulnerabilities.

    Associated ticket: TERMA_CON_AUTOMIC-86

  • The Automic Connector now synchronizes executions faster than in older versions.

    Associated ticket: TERMA_CON_AUTOMIC-87

Control-M Connector 1.2.4

Enhancements

This version of the Control-M Connector is updated to support configuring the log location as well as the rotation and retention of log files based on the file size.

Bug Fixes

The following issues have been fixed in this version:

  • Fixed the generateConnectorCert.sh and generateConnectorCert.bat scripts, which solves the issue caused by the scripts running when required tools were not present. Now the users are notified when the necessary tools are not available before exiting with a non-zero exit code.

  • Fixed an issue with SSL configured connectors, which prevented the connector service from starting when configured to run with SSL on Windows.

  • Fixed an issue with connector configuration scripts, which failed to update the http:client:ssl:enabled value in the SSL properties section of the application.yml file based on the configured http/https AAI-Server URI.

  • Fixed an issue with SSL configured universal connectors, which prevented the connector service from starting when configured to run with SSL on Windows.

    Associated ticket: DE517848

IWS Connector 1.11.2-1

Bug Fixes

The following issues have been fixed in this version:

  • Fixed a problem that resulted in a NumberFormatException when processing job definitions. This problem caused the download to fail and subsequent event processing to stop until the connector was restarted.

  • Fixed a regex issue for CALENDAR SEGMENTS that have trailing spaces. This issue prevented the job definition download from completing properly.
