Considerations When Upgrading to v24.x.x from v6.x.x
When you plan to upgrade from any 6.x.x version to v24.0.0 or higher, and you currently use the AAI Client reports or Insight reports, you need to know that you will lose those reports with the upgrade. This is because the Reporting Server (also called the BI server) has been removed from the AAI solution. This topic covers what that means for you and your AAI installation.
Important to Understand Before Upgrading
Because the Reporting Server (also called the BI server) has been removed from the AAI solution with AAI v24, when you upgrade to AAI version 24.x.x from a version 6.x.x of AAI, you and your users lose all Client and Insight reports that you had defined . The same information is still available in AAI V24 in data insights and interactive views and tools that are integrated into job and jobstream details pages as part of a new approach that offers new capabilities. Nevertheless, the new functionality is not a one-to-one replacement. Therefore before committing to an upgrade date, work with your users to determine the impact and define a transition approach.
To ensure that no one accidentally loses reports, the upgrade process warns you with the following message before upgrading and requires confirmation before continuing with the upgrade.

-
reportHost
-
reportPassword

Post V24 Upgrade Considerations
If you upgrade from an AAI version 6.x.x to version 24.0.0 or higher, after fully upgrading your production environments, you can remove the Jasper server that you used to need to produce previous AAI client and Insight reports.
In addition, please note that having a second mirroring historical database is no longer needed. That recommendation was based on the performance impact on daily processing of job and jobstream events of calls from the external JasperSoft server. Now that everything is integrated within AAI, this is no longer an issue. Therefore, you can discontinue mirroring the historical data.
