AE Job objects can be used to define new SAP jobs and also to transfer existing SAP jobs to AE. The advantage is clear: the job must only be created once.
Notes:
- Jobs can only be transferred if there is an agent connection to the SAP system.
- If jobs are transferred to AE, they are not removed from the SAP system. Job settings are read and copied to the AE Job object.
- This method of transferring jobs is very useful if only a few jobs are affected. When you need to transfer many jobs, use the AE.ApplicationInterface instead. For more information, see AE Application Interface.
Important! If you plan to transfer masses of jobs, do so carefully and get a general idea first. In most cases, the number of jobs has increased in the course of time; they can often be reworked, simplified or even replaced.
To import a job from SAP job into an SAP job:
- From the Form page, click Import Job.
- From the Choose Job Name dialog, specify search criteria in the Filter section on the right side of the dialog and click the Filter button.
- Select the job listing you wish to import from and click Choose.
- Optionally add additional SAP jobs to the SAP job definition.
The SAP Agent opens the Choose Job Name dialog.
The Job object adopts the statements the job contains. Parameters such as the variant or output device are automatically added.
Transferring SAP Calendar Definitions
- R3_IMPORT_CALENDAR
Imports SAP Calendar objects and converts them to Automic Workload Automation Calendars.
