Rename Command Settings

The Rename command renames a single file or directory.

To rename a file or directory:

  1. Select a connection under Path.

    2. The only two selectable connections in the drop-down list are the ones selected in the From and To fields at the top of the RA FTP Agent Job definition page, above the command sequence.

    You can browse to a file or directory using the browse icon. When you click it, a pop-up dialog opens that allows you to browse to a file or directory on the host. For more information, see Browsing to Directories and Files.

  2. Specify absolute or relative path for the file named in the From Path field.

    3. The only two selectable connections in the drop-down list are the ones selected in the From and To fields at the top of the RA FTP Agent Job definition page, above the command sequence.

  3. Specify a new file name in the To Path field. You can enter the new file name as either:
    • The path from the From Path field and the file name. For example, config/options_old.ini.
    • Just the new file name from the directory specified in the From Path field. For example, options_old.ini.
  4. If you do not want the Job to abort if this command fails, uncheck the Abort job on command failure box.
  5. Optionally add a description of the command under Description.

  6. The Description field acts as comment in the command sequence, and is not written to the Job report. To write a message to the Job report use an Echo command .
