Intelligent Filtering and Sorting

Automic Automation's AI Filter Assistant is a generative AI-powered tool that allows you to filter and sort lists using natural language prompts. Instead of manually selecting multiple criteria from the filter pane, you can describe the data you are looking for in plain language and the assistant automatically applies the corresponding filters. This is particularly useful in large-scale environments where lists of tasks, objects, Agents, etc., can contain thousands of records.

Key Capabilities

  • Natural Language Prompting

The AI Filter Assistant translates human language into filter logic. You can combine multiple filter criteria (names, dates, statuses, specific attributes) into a single request.

    Examples:

Show all Workflows that executed between March 10th and March 12th and ended with a status other than OK. Show the list by runID in ascending order.

Show me all Jobs that contain 'UC4RB_RESULT' on any process page and were modified in the last 48 hours.

  • Multi-Context Support

The AI Filter Assistant is available across several areas of the Automic Web Interface: List of tasks, list of results after an object search, list of Agents, and more.

  • Integrated Sorting

Beyond just finding data, the assistant can organize the results. Specify the sort order (ascending or descending) and the specific column to sort by (RunID, Modification Date, Status and so forth) directly within your prompt.

  • Conversational Refinement

The assistant supports iterative searching. You can write as many prompts as you need, refining the results until they reach the exact subset of data required.

To Use the AI Filter Assistant

  1. In the list, open the Filter pane and click the Add Filter Criteria button.

  2. Select AI Filter Assistant from the dropdown menu. The Intelligent Assistant pane opens to the Automation Assistant.

  3. Enter your prompt in the Ask field at the bottom of the pane.

Note: Because filter settings (including those generated by AI) are reflected in the AWI URL, you can copy the URL to share your specifically filtered view with other users or bookmark it for future use.
