About User Management in the ECC

You can manage user definitions and their authorizations and rights to all the ECC plug-ins centrally in the user management functions of the Administration perspective area of the ECC.

How it works

When you define a user in the ECC, an the user is created in the Automation Engine. You can define authorities and privileges, just as you would in the Automation Engine directly in ECC. The same is true for user groups.

Who can work with the user management functions?

To see and use the user management functions in the ECC Administration you must be an Automation Engine user with the privilege "ECC: Access to Administration" in your user settings, and you must logon to the ECC over an Automation Engine authentication.

Which users and user groups can you manage?

The user authentication applies only to users that have a user definition in the Automation Engine and who logon to the ECC over an Automation Engine connection.
