Version Management Page

Every change made to an object creates a new version of that object. The Version Management page lists all versions of an object and it provides access to the object details and parameters as they were defined in each version. It also allows you to restore the object to a previous version and to delete a version. This page is available for all object types. Your system administrator can activate and define the behavior of this function in the UC_CLIENT_SETTINGS - Various Client Settings and UC_SYSTEM_SETTINGS - Systemwide Settings variables.

This page includes the following:

Overview

If this function is activated, a new version of the object is saved to the database with each change and a new entry is displayed on this list. If an object was never changed after creation, this list is empty.

The Version Management page provides the following information:

Viewing the Details of a Particular Version

  1. Select the version you are interested in.
  2. Click the Details button on the toolbar.
  3. A pane is displayed on the right hand side of your window that provides a summary of the parameters and values used with that particular version of the object

Accessing a Version of the Object

If you still need more details on a particular version of the object, either right-click it and select Open or select it and click the Open button on the toolbar. This opens the object in read-only mode, displaying the settings of the object in that particular version.

You can also select multiple versions and open them in bulk.

Restoring a Version of the Object

From this list you can easily replace the latest version of an object with any other older version. This is useful in case of a misconfiguration.

To restore the version of an object, right-click the version you want to recover and click the Restore button on the toolbar.

Deleting a Version of the Object

Right-click the version you want to get rid of and select Delete or select it and click Delete on the toolbar.

You can also select multiple versions and delete them in bulk.
