Folder Permissions

Entities are stored in folders. As security experts, system administrators assign users and user groups the rights they have on the entities stored in a specific folder. The following permissions can be set per folder:

  • Read

Right to access a folder and view its entities. You must consider certain dependencies. Users with read permissions on a top-level entity can see its sub-entities too.

  • Use

Right to refer to the entities in this folder from other entities

  • Write

Right to change the entities in this folder

  • Delete

Right to delete the entities in this folder

  • Execute

Right to use the entities in this folder when executing Workflows

The following entities are stored in dedicated folders:

  • Application
  • Component
  • Deployment Profile
  • Deployment Target
  • Environment
  • Environment Reservation
  • Login
  • Package
  • Queue
  • Workflow (Application and General)

The folder permissions are managed on the Folder Authorizations page of a user or user group definition by an administrator. See Granting Release Automation (CDA) Folder Authorizations.
